Kalasa comes in mudigere taluk of chikkamagaluru district, kalasa is a common point to horanadu, kudremukh, and places towards Mangalore. Kalasa is a hilly region with abundant of greenery. There are few good hotels are there in kalasa. Kalasa name emerged from the God Kalaseshwara, Kalaseshwara temple located in the heart of the Kalasa city, this temple present in a small hilly area, one can see a magnificent view from top of the temple. Kalaseshwara temple is having a idol of shiva including few other small temples with proper route map to the nearby temples. This temple belongs to Muzrai department of karnataka state government.
