After visiting the Hindlumane falls and Hanging Bridge at nittur we headed towards kodachadri, a 20 km distance feel like a 100 km, again to say roads are pathetic to travel, this road ends at katiinahole which is the starting point for Kodachadri, there is finest road to reach Kattinahole that is from " Nagara " a hobli place comes in HOSANAGARA Taluk of Shimoga.
From Kattinahole there were lot more Mahindra JEEPS are traveling to Kodachadri, 1600 -/- Rs per jeep for up and down, if you will see the driving nature and the vehicle maintenance cost then 1600-/- doesn't matter at all... two wheeler is impossible on this road, only challenging utility vehicle can go to the top of the Kodachadri, two wheeler can be ride only in summer, better you pack your camera kits until you reach the top of the Kodachadri other wise it would be vulnerable to the road condition. Jeeps will go until to the Guest house, from there it will be 2 km walk, there is a Ganapathi Guhe, Sri Bhadrakali temple and Shankara Peeta at the top of the Kodachadri.
Kodachadri mountains is a place for rare animals, birds and plants including the algae and parasitic plants a lot more macro level photography can be done if one should travel on end of the August, on the way we can see the herd of Bison, Deer, it is a perfect biodiversity too, all and all it is a cumbersome experience for us because we went in a monsoon season. End of August and September will be the suitable time to visit the kodachadri mountains. It's evening around 6:00 PM we traveled towards Hosanagara via Nagara from sampekatte to kollur road.
Traveling Route :
1. Shimoga - Hosanagara - Nagara -Kattinahole - Kodachadri

3. Shimoga - sagara - Sigandur - Tumari - Harige - Nittur - kodachadri
